WHEN DID LIFE GET SO COMPLICATED?

By

Sometimes I wonder when life became so complicated.

Remember when someone could just show up at your door, and instead of wondering why they hadn’t called first, you’d put the kettle on and invite them inside?

Nobody needed an appointment to visit a friend. You didn’t have to check your phone every five minutes, and if someone didn’t answer when you called, you simply tried again later.

Somehow, we all survived without knowing what everyone was doing every minute of the day.

I miss those days sometimes.

I miss conversations that weren’t interrupted by notifications. I miss sitting around a kitchen table, laughing about absolutely nothing, and realizing three hours had passed.

Of course, life wasn’t perfect back then either. We had bills, worries, heartbreaks, and plenty of problems. But I think we had something we’ve slowly started losing.

Time for one another.

Today, we’re more connected than ever, yet sometimes it feels like we’re further apart. We can reach someone halfway around the world in seconds, but finding an afternoon to visit someone down the street seems almost impossible.

And here’s something else I’ve noticed. We’ve become so busy trying to keep up with life that sometimes we forget to enjoy the one we’re living.

Maybe getting older makes me more nostalgic. Or maybe I’m simply beginning to appreciate the things I once took for granted.

A good conversation. An unexpected visit. A cup of coffee that turns into an afternoon of laughter.

Nothing fancy. Nothing expensive.

Just people making time for people.

Sometimes I wonder if life really became more complicated, or if somewhere along the way, we forgot how to keep it simple.

What about you? Is there something about the old days that you wish we could bring back?

With love,
