BEING GOOD DOESN’T MEAN BEING PERFECT

What does it mean to be a good person?

What does it really mean to be a good person?

I think we sometimes forget that being a good person doesn’t mean getting everything right. We all lose our patience, make mistakes, and say things we wish we could take back. That’s part of being human.

Science tells us something interesting about kindness. Research has shown that helping others can activate the brain’s reward system, contributing to feelings of happiness and connection. Empathy also plays an important role in how we relate to one another, but stress, emotional exhaustion, and personal experiences can affect how we express it.

That’s why I believe we should be careful about judging people too quickly. We never really know what someone else is carrying.

To me, being a good person means showing compassion, admitting when we’re wrong, and treating others with dignity. It also means understanding that kindness doesn’t require us to sacrifice our own well-being. We can have boundaries, say no, and still have a good heart.

I’ve lived long enough to know that nobody gets through life without regrets. What matters is whether we learn from our mistakes and try to do better.

At the end of the day, I don’t think goodness is measured by how perfect we appear to others. It’s found in the small things we do when nobody’s watching.

Being a good person isn’t about never making mistakes. It’s about having enough heart to care when we do.

With love
