What’s a personal mantra or philosophy you live by?

I don’t think I’ve ever officially chosen a personal mantra, but if I had to pick one, it would be:

Life is too short to keep waiting for the right time.

For years, I think I believed there would always be a “someday.” Someday I’d try something new. Someday I’d be brave enough. Someday I’d stop worrying so much about what other people thought.

These days, I’m much more interested in now.

I’m 63, trying new things, making mistakes, laughing at myself, and occasionally doing ridiculous things like zip-lining to conquer my fear of heights. Spoiler alert: I’m now more afraid of heights. 😂

But at least I tried.

So maybe that’s my philosophy: Do the thing. Write the book. Take the trip. Laugh when it goes sideways.

The perfect time may never come.

Sometimes you just have to go for it.
