MY MORNING ROUTINE: A DAILY SURVIVAL STORY

By

Tell us about your morning routine.

My morning routine is a carefully organized disaster.

First, I wake up and lie in bed wondering who scheduled another day without consulting me.

Then I reach for my phone to check the time. Forty-five minutes later, I know what a stranger in Australia had for supper, but I still don’t know what time it is.

Eventually, I stumble toward the coffee maker, because apparently society frowns upon drinking Baileys straight from the bottle at 8 a.m.

Next comes the big decision. Do I get dressed, or do I remain in my pajamas and call myself a freelance writer? After all, nobody can fire me for showing up to work without pants.

By 10 a.m., I’ve checked my emails, talked to myself, forgotten why I walked into three rooms, and made a grocery list I’ll leave on the kitchen counter.

And that, my friends, is how I successfully accomplish absolutely nothing before lunch.

With love,
